Background

What are your preferences? Light jazz, cool jazz, adult contemporary, new age, classical, hit parade (Frank, Dean, Sammy, Tony, Ella, etc)?

We keep the volume at a conversational level during cocktail time and a little quieter during dinner; then we pick up the energy and volume a little after dinner.

We are happy to make any announcements during this time such as the cutting of the cake, the best man for toasts, introductions of the Bride and Groom or even the entire wedding party. We will coordinate with the caterers as to when dinner will be served (and if you would like us to announce it), and if their will be someone to dismiss the tables through a buffet or whether it will be a plated dinner.

Preliminaries

First dances such as: Bride & Groom, father daughter, parents, wedding party or any other special dances.

Bouquet and garter toss. Select some music to go with each of these, as we call up the single women for bouquet and the single men for the garter.

The Dance

First, we start out with either one or two swing tunes or a couple 50’s or 60’s tunes to grab some of the older crowed.

Then we play two song sets of 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s, 2000+, country, slow, within the first hour. We slow it down approx. 20 min after we start the dance this gives older people who don’t fast dance a chance at the dance floor early.

Make sure we know what you want to hear and what you don’t want to hear so we can play requests. From here on out we mix it up in 3 to 4 song sets, playing the good dance requests. (If it’s not a good dance song we don’t play it unless we get multiple requests for this song, as that may indicate a group favorite). Our job is to keep the party fun and alive.

The Bride & Groom’s requests take precedent and we play them early. If the Bride & Groom want a song we play it no matter what (it’s your wedding!). As a matter of fact you have "the power of next": if you make a request we will ask do you want it next?

Specials

Through-out the course of the evening, you may want to do some special things like: chicken dance, hoky poky, locomotion (have the bride or groom lead around the room), conga line (same), snowball dance, etc. You may also not want these types of dances. It’s up to you, just let us know.

Maybe a special dance with the groom and his mother, grandmother etc… oldest married couple in the room (anniversary dance), etc.

The Ending

Sometimes we have a final Bride & Groom dance. On the reception planer there is a place to let us know.
